What this application is

Arc Marabot is a personal assistant that Mark Shidran built and runs on his own server for his own use. It is reached through a private Telegram bot that accepts messages from a single Telegram account — its owner's. It is not a product, it is not offered to other people, and there is no sign-up.

What it does

The owner asks it questions in plain language and it answers using his own information. In practice that means:

answering questions about his mail and calendar — what arrived, what is unread, what is scheduled, when he is free;
preparing a short daily digest each morning: today's events, unread mail worth attention, and tasks that are due;
looking things up in his own documents, spreadsheets and files when he asks about them;
keeping a to-do list in sync between his task list and his own notes;
drafting and, only after he explicitly confirms each individual action, sending mail, creating calendar events, adding tasks or writing to his own spreadsheets.

Why it asks for access to a Google Account

Everything above is the owner's own data, held in his own Google Account. The application asks for access to that account so it can read and — with his case-by-case confirmation — write that data on his behalf. It requests access to exactly one account: the owner's. It does not ask anyone else for access, and it does not read, collect or store anyone else's Google data.

Actions that change anything on Google's side are blocked by default. Each one has to be approved by the owner, individually, in Telegram, before it runs. Reading is allowed without a prompt; writing never is.

Where the data goes

The application runs on a single private server. Google data is read on demand to answer the owner's request and is not published, sold, or shared with advertisers. Some of it is sent to the language-model providers that generate the assistant's replies, because that is how the assistant understands a request and composes an answer. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is accessed, why, where it is kept, and how access can be withdrawn at any moment.
